RekMakker is a name I created for my cabinet business. In order to combine my Dutch heritage with the Dutch Craftsmanship I have been blessed with. I went to the two Dutch words that very simply represent what I do. One word for cabinet in Dutch is Rek. A word for maker in Dutch is the same is in English- Maker. It is pronounced with a short a. I took artistic license and added a second k so when you put it together you have RekMakker- two words combined into one. I enjoy the name so much I have chosen to use the same name for my guitars as well.

Starting in 2015 I built my first guitar; I finished it right before Christmas time. I custom make all my own jigs and fixtures in order to create the kind of quality and detail each RekMakker Guitar is known for. I have a small workshop dedicated to making guitars located off of the cabinet business my son has now taken over.

I want the person who chooses to have a RekMakker Guitar to make it very custom to them. I want them to choose the tone woods; do you want rose wood or mahogany for example. From there you will choose the exact piece of wood that will be used on your custom guitar. Every RekMakker Guitar is different, no two are the same. Any pictures you see in the gallery are one of a kind, and yours will be as well.
